June 5, 2017 – West Bend, WI – There’s quite a bit of movin’ and shakin’ going on in the business real estate market in West Bend as Jim Becker, owner of EPIC Creative, has purchased the former Delta Defense building, 300 S. Sixth Avenue.

Delta Defense/ USCCA recently moved to a new corporate headquarters on Freedom Way in West Bend.

It was Feb. 15, 2013 that Delta Ventures owner Tim Schmidt closed on the purchase on the former West Bend Art Museum/ West Bend Memorial Foundation, 300 S. Sixth Ave for $510,000.

Becker has had his eye on a new location for quite some time. In 2008 it was announced EPIC Creative would move to a 3-acre parcel in downtown West Bend in the vicinity of what is now the Museum of Wisconsin Art.

That idea was well publicized and then Becker pulled back.

EPIC Creative is a marketing firm located in the 3000 block of Progress Drive.

What follows is the release from EPIC Creative.

EPIC Creative, a full service advertising, communications and video production agency located in West Bend, Wis., is pleased to announce it has received an accepted offer for purchase to move its corporate headquarters from West Bend’s south industrial park to 300 S. 6th Ave. in downtown West Bend. The building offers a more efficient layout to enhance client service and additional space to support EPIC’s continued growth and future expansion.

EPIC Creative plans to officially move to its new headquarters in Fall 2017. Details regarding the anticipated purchase were not disclosed.

According to EPIC Creative President and CEO Jim Becker, the decision to move was necessitated by the significant growth the company has realized in recent years. “We have a great staff that treats our clients well and puts out an awesome product, which has led to increased demand,” said Becker. “Our new headquarters will offer a better work environment for current staff and the ability to comfortably accommodate future growth. It underscores our commitment to both our clients and our employees. Culture is very important, here.”

Built in 1939, the 20,000-square-foot building was once occupied by West Bend Mutual, the Museum of Wisconsin Art and, most recently, Delta Defense.

The two and a half story building features an open concept layout, with multiple conference rooms, a cafeteria and an exercise room with locker room facilities. On the outside, two private parking lots are available for customers and employees and it is within walking distance to downtown West Bend restaurants, specialty boutiques, and professional services.

“We were fortunate to find such a nice and well-served space,” said Becker. “The building’s former tenant, Delta Defense, modernized the building and left it move-in ready which greatly reduces the impact the relocation could have on our clients and our employees. And we’re an advertising agency moving into an old art museum. I don’t think it could have been any more perfect.”

The decision to relocate EPIC’s corporate offices will also make additional room for the company’s video and photo production services, which will remain at the company’s current location. The decision to keep the present location is predicated on the company’s in-house studio, which is capable of video and audio production, editing and photography.

“We’ve been discussing a relocation or remodel for some time, now,” said Becker. “This is the right step for us. The Sixth Avenue building and our studio on Progress Drive will give us the space we need to grow, the tools to help our employees be more successful, and allow us to continue to give our clients great work.”

On a side note: a couple other properties have changed hands in the downtown. The former Sears building on Main Street sold and will soon become a restaurant.

Merle Norman is moving into the former Ooh la la location on Main Street next to All in Books and the Kettle Moraine YMCA is moving its business office into the former Ziegler building, 215 N. Main Street.
