Obit: Lorraine F. Zastrow, 82, of Lomira. Lorraine loved to volunteer her time at Hope Health and Rehab in Lomira.

Jan. 30, 2017 – Lomira, WI – Lorraine F. Zastrow, 82, of Lomira, went to her eternal home on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Waukesha Springs Health and Rehab in Waukesha, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born on March 4, 1934, in Berlin, the daughter of the late Carl and Lona (Manske) Timm.  On February 4, 1956, Lorraine was united in marriage to Roger Zastrow of Lomira, at Immanuel Lutheran church in Auroraville.  Roger preceded Lorraine in death on March 22, 2006.

Lorraine was a graduate of Berlin High School in 1943.  Following graduation, she attended business secretarial school in Oshkosh.

Lorraine and her husband engaged in farming in the Town of Lomira for many years before moving to the Village of Lomira.  From there she worked as the church secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church.  She was a long-time member of the church choir, United Methodist Women’s group and volunteered at many church functions.

Lorraine loved to volunteer her time at Hope Health and Rehab in Lomira.  She also enjoyed music, playing the piano, gardening, crafting, reading, bible studies and fishing trips up north with her husband and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Gary (Laura) Zastrow of Watertown and Mike (Kathy) Zastrow of rural Mayville; five grandchildren, Scott, Adrienne, Eric, Angela and Kelly; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mabel (John) Gimbel of Sun City, AZ; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Timm of Berlin as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband Lorraine was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Timm and two sisters, Lucille (Paul) Sohn and Joann Zabel.

A Funeral Service for Lorraine will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2016, at Trinity Methodist Church, 300 Church St., in Lomira.  Rev. Rom Pegram will officiate and entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.

The Zastrow family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from Noon until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church or to the charity of your choice.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the wonderful staff at Oak Hill Terrace/Spring House in Waukesha, for taking great care of Lorraine and her family for the past two years.

The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Lorraine’s arrangements.
