Nov. 15, 2017 – Washington Co., WI – The Kettle Moraine YMCA in West Bend has been posting stories of successful health care and fitness achievements on its Facebook page and the inspiring story from Becky Arndt really needed to be screamed from the mountain top!

Becky’s story is below.  Thank you Becky for choosing the Kettle Moraine YMCA to be a part of this great journey with you, we are so proud of you!

“I could do it myself. I’m athletic; how hard can it be?
Pictures were evidence that I was wrong. I needed guidance and direction.

Working with Sue Funk at the Kettle Moraine Y has been outstanding! She listened to my goals and objectives for hiring a Personal Trainer… and then we got down to business.

Each week Sue has a workout prepared specifically for me. She inspires and challenges me during the workout; encouraging me to give 100% the whole time. If I were doing it myself, I would stop early or use less weight – find some excuse to cut corners. In addition, she has introduced me to a variety of machines and exercises that I would not have tried on my own.

Most effective, though, is the accountability piece. The other six days of the week, it’s my responsibility to repeat the workouts, eat healthy, do the prescribed cardio and show up a week later with positive results (and in a little better shape so that I’m not so gassed by Sue’s workout!).

I am on the verge of meeting the goals I set earlier in the year, thanks to my Personal Trainer. I am ready to challenge myself and set new goals. Without a second thought, I’ve signed up for another round of training with Sue.

Summed up: I feel good and I look good. Having a Personal Trainer has been a terrific experience. I have a heck of a lot more discipline and confidence. I’ve got this.”
