Allenton Picnic and Parade set for August 17, 18, and 19 | By Ron Naab

 

August 5, 2018 – Allenton, WI – The Allenton Annual Picnic Committee has been busy planning its annual festival to be held August 17, 18, and 19 at Allenton’s Veterans Park.

Friday evening is a fish fry provided by Jug’s Hitching Post and new this year a piece of homemade pie to finish off your supper.

This will be followed by one of the finest entertaining bands to hit the area—Riding Shotgun.  There will also be fire department water fights, starting at 6 p.m.

For those that wish to have a fun night listening to a great selection of music and having fun will be entertained by Fooz the Generic DJ.

Saturday morning, August 18, will start with a 5K Run/Walk beginning at Veterans Park in Allenton.

At noon, the Bags Tournament will held in the western portion of the park.  Both events have registration forms by emailing [email protected].

For younger members of the family Roden Barnyard Adventures will take place from 10 a.m.  – 3 p.m. followed by kids’ water fights.

Throughout the weekend Voss Marshland Rides and Amusements will be operating with a special promotion opportunity on Saturday afternoon.  Music for Saturday night will feature The Brother’s 2 Band.

For those that want sit in the air conditioned town hall there will be Bingo on Saturday night and Sunday.

The wrap up to this annual family-fun weekend will start with a huge parade on Sunday sponsored by area businesses.

Following the parade is the very entertaining “Concert in the Park.”  The concert will include performances by six musical units.  The afternoon music presentations will conclude with Kenny Brandt Duo.

Sunday the food selections will include Gehring’s brats, hamburgers, sweet corn and “Let’s Get Roasted” Pig Roast.
