Nov. 9, 2018 – West Bend, WI – November is a time of gratitude and giving thanks. At the end of the month we have Thanksgiving, but first and foremost, we have Veterans Day.
Without veterans, the United States would be a very different place to live, and we wouldn’t have as many freedoms and blessings to be thankful for.
At American Companies in West Bend, we take great pride in our country and appreciate the men and women who served to protect it. We especially want to take this time to formally thank our employee, Ryan Weyker, for his time served in the United States Army.
Weyker spent his childhood in West Bend. He attended high school at Kettle Moraine Lutheran in Jackson. Immediately after completing high school, Weyker enlisted in the Army.
He went through basic training at Fort Benning in Georgia. Following basic training he attended Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon in Georgia.
During most of his time of service he was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. Weyker also completed training in the Philippines, Japan, and Australia. Throughout his entire four years in the Army, Weyker was a specialist in satellite communications.

Weyker was a Carpenter for two years at American Construction Services prior to being promoted to Site Manager in January 2018. He is currently managing two hotel projects, the Janesville Towneplace Suites (see below), and AVID Monona. In his free time, Weyker likes fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, spending time with his friends and girlfriend, and having new experiences.

According to Todd Weyker, Vice President of American Companies, “When Ryan was asked why he wanted to go into the military, before going to college, his answer was ‘because it will make me better both physically and mentally.’ He was determined to enlist, and no one was going to change his mind. As his father, I couldn’t be more proud of all of his accomplishments. I’m also enjoying being able to work with him and see his leadership skills being used on a daily basis.”
