Businesses accessible during construction on Paradise Drive in West Bend

West Bend, WI – Roadwork on a portion of Paradise Drive is expected to be completed in mid-May. Business owners on the north side of Paradise Drive and River Road want the community to know they are accessible during construction. There is an access driveway to the east of Eaton’s Pizza.

“It was amazing to see they worked fast,” said Corey Faust, owner of Eaton’s Pizza. “The City of West Bend engineer stopped in to tell me it should be quick and he followed through on his promise.”

Paradise Drive from Indiana Avenue to River Road will be limited to one-way traffic until approximately mid-May for pavement reconstruction. Please note the project dates are weather dependent and may be delayed due to inclement weather.

The general contractor for this project is Stark Pavement Corp. from Brookfield, Wisconsin. Construction activities will include pulverizing existing roadway, grading and evaluation of roadway base, and placement of hot mix asphalt pavement overlay.

The contractor will provide construction zone flaggers during all working hours to ensure local access to residences and businesses. There are three driveways within the work area; they serve properties along the north side of Paradise Drive. Access to all properties is available from any of those driveways. In order to simplify traffic control and limit potential conflicts, the easternmost and westernmost driveways will be closed during construction. The middle driveway will remain open to provide access to all properties. An additional flagger will be present at that middle driveway to monitor and direct traffic.

Motorists are reminded to abide by all traffic control signs and devices as well as be aware of ongoing construction activities. Alternate routes should be planned to avoid construction whenever possible.
