Catch a glimpse of the Dragon spacecraft visible tonight, May 30, from Washington County

May 30, 2020 – Washington Co., WI – The SpaceX rocket launch from Florida went off without a hitch this afternoon in Florida and now neighbors across Washington County may be able to catch a glimpse tonight.

According to our resident NASA space expert Tom Sarko.

Looks like you may be able to spot the spacecraft before it gets to the space station. There’s a pass predicted to be fairly bright from about 10:16 p.m. to 10:18 p.m., moving WNW to WSW and about 42 degrees (roughly halfway from horizon to overhead) at its highest point (right before it disappears). Good luck!
Sarko grew up in West Bend. He went to school in Barton and graduated WBHS before he started his teaching career and hooked up with NASA.

NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley successfully were on board a brand-new spacecraft as it launched at 2:25 p.m. CST to the world’s orbiting laboratory.

The Crew Dragon will take 19 hours to reach the International Space Station.

Let me know if you spot the aircraft tonight.
