Email threat under investigation by Kewaskum Police Department | By Chief Tom Bishop

October 24, 2019 – Kewaskum, WI – On Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at approximately 9:01 p.m., the Kewaskum Police Department received information of a message received by multiple students via email. This nature of this message made a vague threat that caused concern for the safety of our students and staff.

The Kewaskum Police Department and the Kewaskum School District take all types of threats very seriously. We cooperatively worked together very quickly and diligently to determine that there was no immediate, creditable threat to our student body and that school would be in session on Thursday, October 24, 2019.

Although we determined that no credible, immediate threat existed, we did still have an increased law enforcement presence this morning to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty and staff.

This incident is still under investigation with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office.

No other information will be released at this time.
