May 27, 2019 – Township of Trenton, WI – At 10:02 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2019 the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motor vehicle crash on US 151 just north of Redwood Road in the township of Trenton.
This crash occurred after receiving reports that a vehicle had been traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Hwy 151.
The investigation shows a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of US 151 and struck a southbound 2016 Nissan Altima in a head on collision.
The driver of the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan, a 39-year-old male from Beaver Dam, was flown from the scene by Flight for Life to Aurora Hospital in Summit with life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Nissan Altima, a 24-year-old male from Sun Prairie, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office.
This case remains under investigation at this time. Alcohol and operating on the wrong side of the highway are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
Other agencies assisting at the scene include the Beaver Dam Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Flight for Life, Beaver Dam Fire and EMS, the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office and DCERT.
