Final races – encouraging results at nationals in Colorado

20160407_094808
I raced on the Slalom course on Thursday and had another consistent race placing 15th. My time overall was really good these last two days.
In Slalom and Giant Slalom they combine your race times to determine where you place.
You get two runs each event and the top eight advance. I was pretty bummed as I would have placed 5th and 8th in the bracket above me, but missed the birthday cut off by a matter of weeks.
I know I have next year to look forward to when I move up to that age group.
It was also fun to have a few other high schoolers from our conference (Slinger and Waukesha) compete here this week too.
I hope we can have more qualify next year as the national experience is hard to explain but so cool.
Today we head home but before we catch our flight I am going to compete in one last event called Banked Slalom.
It’s a Slalom course with embankments built into the course.
