February 23, 2017 – Washington County, WI – Put away the rakes and garden trowels, then haul out the shovels and snowblowers once again.
The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Washington, Dodge and Fond du lac counties that reminds us that winter is not quite over yet.
Two rounds of wintery precipitation are expected to make roads slippery and treacherous starting this evening and lasting through Saturday.
The first round is expected to hit sometime this evening with a mix of rain and snow, transitioning to mostly freezing rain overnight with some snow and sleet in the mix.
The second round is expected to land Friday night and finish up Saturday morning delivering a rain/snow mix that will turn into snow with an expected 2″ to 3″ of accumulation.
Drivers should take precautions, especially during the evening commute tonight and Friday evening.
