Jackson Police take one person into custody following accident on HWY 45 | By Chief Ryan Vossekuil

February 6, 2020 – Jackson, WI – On February 6, 2020 at 2:28 p.m., the Jackson Police Department received a report of a stolen vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 45.

The driver, a 22-year-old West Bend man had a warrant for his arrest. A Jackson Police Officer observed the vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 45 approaching State Highway 60 in the Village of Jackson. The suspect vehicle exited onto the off-ramp for State Highway 60 at a high rate of speed and crashed into a guardrail on the off-ramp.

The driver suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported by the Jackson Fire Department to Froedert West Bend, and subsequently flown by Flight for Life to Froedert Milwaukee.

The Jackson Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson Fire Department. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team was requested to respond to the scene and reconstruct the crash.
