Kettle Moraine Lutheran loses close game against Homestead | By Jordyn Heckendorf

Jan. 15, 2019 – Mequon, WI – The Kettle Moraine Lutheran Chargers battled against the Homestead Highlanders in an away non-conference game Tuesday night.

The KML Chargers held their own in the first half but were trailing by six points heading into the second half.

Bringing a surge of energy and intensity, KML executed well offensively to create a seven-point lead with 10 minutes to go in the second half.

Momentum stalled when Homestead was able to cut the lead and go ahead by one point with only two minutes left in the game.

As the competition neared the final minute, Kettle fell behind by three points. Shooters were tightly guarded by Homestead’s defense and could not get a three-pointer to fall, leaving the final score at 54 to 51.

Leading scorers for the Chargers consist of Emma Thistle with 8 points while Jordyn Heckendorf, Megan Sina, and Abby Washburn followed with 7.

KML plans to bounce back in an away matchup between the top two teams in the East Central Conference this Thursday as the Chargers take on Berlin.
