I believe I am the candidate with the most experience to fulfill the duties of County Clerk. For the last 16 years, I have served as Barton Town Clerk and have experience in the government sector. My responsibilities as Town Clerk include election administration, preparing and filing state and federal reports; and working with the town board. I prepare agendas, take minutes, and maintain town records. I work actively with setting the town budget as well as having responsibility for other financial matters, and issue various licenses.
I am also employed full time at the Washington County District Attorney’s Office as a legal secretary for the last 10 years. This position comes with great responsibilities and has allowed me to set priorities and goals, all while working independently for the last 10 years.
I believe my employment history speaks to the level of dedication I possess, and of my drive to be a committed employee. I put forth my best efforts with both the District Attorney’s Office and the Town of Barton. It is a reflection of who I am and my work ethic. This, along with my experience and knowledge, is what I will bring to the Washington County Clerk’s Office. I believe it would be a natural transition, considering my experience and commitment.
On a personal note, I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I received a Bachelor’s Degree. After college, I was employed in Illinois in a supervisory position at a department store, where I met my husband of 29 years. We later moved to the Town of Barton, where we have lived for 25 years and raised our two children. I was able to stay at home, allowing me the joy of watching my children grow.
I would like voters of Washington County to feel confident voting for me as County Clerk. I have the skills necessary to offer Washington County the quality service they have relied on from current County Clerk. I urge Washington County citizens to vote Tuesday, August 9 and have a voice in electing the next County Clerk.
