On Nov. 17 at 9:28 a.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on County Trunk S near South Center Road in the Town of Beaver Dam.

Preliminary investigation showed Daniel L. Krueger, 58, from rural Mayville was operating a 2016 Mack semi-tractor (with flatbed trailer) east on County Trunk S.

Jeffrey Hildebrand, 40, from Beaver Dam was operating a 2006 Chevrolet west on County Trunk S.  The Chevrolet drifted over the center line and into the eastbound traffic lane, striking the rear wheels of the flatbed trailer.  There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

Krueger was uninjured in the crash.

Hildebrand suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown by Flight for Life to UW Hospital in Madison.  Country Trunk S was closed for almost 4 hours while the crash was being investigated and the scene cleared.

Assisting at the scene:  Beaver Dam Fire, Beaver Dam EMS, Flight for Life, Wisconsin State Patrol, Dodge County Highway Department and the Dodge County Emergency Response Team.

The crash remains under investigation.
