Minor injuries following two-vehicle accident Tuesday in Town of Addison

Oct. 18, 2017 – Allenton, WI – A follow up on the Tuesday afternoon accident on I41 in the Town of Addison.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department there were minor injuries however the accident created a major traffic impact on I41 for one hour.

The Sheriff’s Office along with the Allenton Fire Department responded to a traffic accident in the area of I41 and Wildlife Road in the Town of Addison yesterday at 3:13 p.m.

The investigation revealed the driver of the van, a 74-year-old Franklin man, was southbound when he switched from the right lane to the left and struck the driver of a sedan identified as a 21-year-old Ripon woman.

The van then spun and flipped on the side and came to rest in the northbound lanes while the passenger car came to rest in the median and sustained moderate damage.

There were minor injuries to the occupants of both vehicles. St. Lawrence Fire Department and West Bend Rescue also assisted at the scene.

I41 was fully opened to traffic at 4:22 p.m.

The accident remains under investigation and enforcement action is pending.
