The Washington County Sheriff’s Office investigated a minor injury accident on Friday night (9/27) at 11:53 p.m. that resulted in a minivan coming to rest in Big Cedar Lake.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Country Trunk K and Highway 144 when the operator, a 41-year-old City of West Bend man, was east bound on Cty Tk K and fell asleep.

The minivan went through the intersection and came to rest 50 feet from shore in about 2 feet of water. The minivan also pinned an unoccupied small boat under the front of the vehicle before coming to rest.

The driver was not under the influence any type of intoxicants but will receive citations as a result of the incident as the intersection is controlled by a stop sign.
