New members elected to Cedar Community Board of Directors | By Carrie Sturn

October 3, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Sheri Katzer, Mary Kurer, and Michael Wisnefske were recently elected to the Cedar Community Board of Directors.

Sheri K
Katzer has a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a Master’s of Science in health administration. She is employed at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls and St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend.

Katzer has 25 years of nursing experience, with the last 18 in leadership roles. She is clinically well versed in medical surgical care, with an emphasis in geriatrics. She volunteers at the Menomonee Falls Community Center, and serves on the planning committee for the annual Senior Enrichment Fair at the community center.

“I am looking forward to serving as a board member so I may positively influence the environment, care, and quality of life for older adults,” says Katzer.

 

 

 

Mary Kuerer

Mary Kurer works at Manitou Group as the Organizational Development Manger. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in education and human services from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and a Master of Arts in adult education and organizational development from Alverno College.

Kurer works in partnership with the CEO and executive team at Manitou performing a full range of duties to ensure the continued success of the company, including developing and managing training programs aimed at aligning talent management with organizational goals.

She also serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, teaching continuing education classes in organizational development and succession planning.

 

 

“I am grateful to be able to lend my support to Cedar Community. The organization is a gem in our community and fills an important need. This is as a wonderful opportunity to work in partnership with others to help fulfill the organization’s mission. Our senior citizens are an important population and I recognize they paved the way for my generation. I want to ensure they are well taken care of and able to live a purposeful, fulfilled life among family and friends,” said Kurer.

Michael W.

Michael Wisnefske is the past owner and president of West Bend Machine Works, Inc. He attended Moraine Park Technical College, and has a degree in machining. Wisnefske served as a past board director for the Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) and its loan and personnel subcommittees.

He has been an active volunteer at Cedar Community for the last six years, which has given him the opportunity to meet and talk with team members and residents, providing a better understanding of Cedar Community’s mission and future direction.

“It’s a privilege to be part of a community that prides itself on the value of its stability with growth, residents, employees, and land,” said Wisnefske.
