Obit: Ann Marie Finnessy (nee Megal)

Ann Marie Finnessy (nee Megal) age 54 of Hubertus, Wisconsin entered into eternal life on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, WI.

She was born on July 22, 1961 in Stevens Point, WI to Ambrose and Ester (nee Iwanski) Megal. She was united in marriage to Steven Finnessy on October 22, 1983 at St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Parish in Amherst, WI.Ann worked at Sentry Insurance in both Stevens Point and Milwaukee, then went to work for Strong Funds before deciding to become a full-time mother. She was the Holy Hill Arts Fair volunteer coordinator for many years. She loved to volunteer her time and talent to help others as often as she could. Her volunteering went far and beyond volunteering at church, but also to her daughters’ schools, and local events and good causes. A few of events which were near and dear to her heart were the benefit for a local teen after he suffered a concussion as well as modeling in the Community Memorial Foundation’s Fashion Show to benefit Breast Cancer.

Ann loved to travel with her family which took her all around the world: the Badlands, Alaska, Hawaii, Scotland, Ireland, and South Africa just to name a few.

Ann is survived by her loving husband Steven; children, Kayla (Dustin) Kwiatkowski of Iowa, and DeAnna Finnessy of Hubertus; her mother Ester, and her siblings Carol Megal (Perry Yaver), Bob Megal, Barb Megal, Tim (Lynn) Megal, and Mark Megal. She is further survived by many other loved relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her Father Ambrose, her dear brother, Gari Megal; and her Mother and Father in-law Greg (Lucille) Finnessy.

Mass of Resurrection for Ann will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. in the Basilica of Holy Hill-National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians (1525 Carmel Road, Hubertus, WI 53033) with the Rev. Fr. Fred Alexander, OCD officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Friday prior to Mass from 3:00-5:00p.m.

Inurnment will take place in Spring 2016.

If you are attending the funeral, please do not wear black, please wear red to honor Ann’s memory as it was her favorite color.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Ann’s name to Saint Mary of the Hill’s Religious Education Program (1515 Carmel Rd, Hubertus, WI 53033) as she loved helping the children and young adults in her community.
