Obit: Bernice R. Krueger, 86, West Bend

Bernice R. Krueger (nee Kober), 86, of West Bend, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Kathy Hospice, West Bend.

She was born on May 6, 1930 to the late Christopher and Leona (nee Rosenbaum) Kober. She graduated from Kewaskum high school in 1948. As a teenager she worked in retail. On May 7, 1949 she was united in marriage to Norman Krueger at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, Kewaskum. They lived on a farm near Lomira raising their four children. In 1961 they moved to West Bend. Bernice worked for Montgomery Wards and then for Amity for 25 years until she retired in 1989. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in West Bend since 1972. She enjoyed doing many thing, camping, cooking, gardening, and bird watching. She especially loved her dogs, Andy and Molly. She enjoyed spending time with her family and having family parties. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Those Bernice leave behind to cherish his memory include her four children, Norman Krueger Jr. of West Bend, Linda Krueger of Brown Deer, Carl (Peggy) Krueger of Grafton, and Bonnie Krueger of Brown Deer; two grandchildren, Nicole Krueger and Brittany Krueger; one great-grandchild, Brody Krueger; brother-in-law, Richard Krueger; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Krueger; brother, William (Beverly) Kober; sister, Betty (Raymond) Mertzig, father and mother-in-law, William (Minnie) Krueger; brother and sister-in-law, Vernon (Eleanor) Krueger.

A Funeral services in remembrance of Bernice will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church, 777 Indiana Avenue, West Bend. Rev. Robert Hein and Rev. John Paustian will officiate. Burial will be Monday October 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Washington County Memorial Park.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

A special thank you from the family to Dr. Herdrich, all the pastors at Good Shepherd, St. Joseph’s hospital modified care unit, and the nurses and staff at Kathy hospice for all their support and care.

Memorials can be made in Bernice’s name to Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church.
