Obit: Catherine Ann Thomas, 67, formerly of West Bend

Sept. 1, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Catherine (nee Hughes) Thomas, 67 of Goose Creek, SC, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2018.
She was born on February 16, 1951 to the late Rowland Hughes and Marjorie (nee Petrie) Hughes in Hartford, WI. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1969.

She and her husband resided in the West Bend, WI area from 1969 through 1980 when they moved to Douglas, AZ.

Cathy was married to William (Bill) Thomas on December 13, 1969 at St. Kilians Catholic Church in Hartford, WI. She and Bill were together since their senior year in high school, spending almost 50 years together. She is survived by her husband, daughters Shannon (Jordahl) of Louisville, KY and Erin (Jones) of Summerville, SC, her sister, Karen Hughes of Hartford, WI and brother, Charles of Wisconsin Rapids, WI. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Duncan Jordahl, Coen Jordahl, Tristan Fordyce, Lilly Fordyce and Ascher Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Cathy spent her career in the legal field, first as a legal secretary, paralegal and as the judicial assistant to three Superior Court, CA judges. Her last position was as the Assistant Director of Arbitration for the Sonoma County, CA Superior Court. With her husband, she lived in many areas of the US including Maryland, South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Arizona, California and Alaska. She enjoyed traveling and visited numerous countries in Europe, the Middle East, South America and Central America.

She is preceded in her death by her parents, father in-law (Lyle Thomas),mother in-law (Lorraine Thomas), and her brother Richard.
In keeping with her wishes, services are private. She will be interned at Fort Howard Memorial Park in Green Bay, WI. Memorials can be given to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure fund.
