Charles L. Poertner, 83, of Hartford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Kathy Hospice in West Bend, WI.
Charles was born In Milwaukee, WI on November 13, 1932 to the late Harold and Harriet (nee Graeven) Poertner. On December 5, 1953 he was united in marriage to his beloved Glorianne Luebke at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Glendale, WI
Charles is survived by his loving wife Gloria, daughter Debra (Thomas) Kutz and son Mark (Margaret) Poertner; grandchildren, Gregory ( Meggy) Kutz, Bradley (Jeannine) Kutz, Mark (Haether) Poertner Jr., and Michael Poertner; great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Ruby, Violet, Olive, Joshua, Alexandria, Johnathen, and Theodore. Sister-in-law Judi Poertner. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother George Poertner, and great-grandson Charles.
Funeral services for Charles will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home,(824 Union St., Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor Jeremy Husby officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 10:00 -12:00 p.m.
Interment at Graceland Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI.
