Obit: David Gehring, 69

David E. Gehring, age 69 of St. Lawrence, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 9, 1946 in Hartford, WI to William and Monica (nee Gass) Gehring. He was united in marriage to Shirley A. Reinke (formerly Krebs) on March 16, 1990 in West Bend, WI.  David breathed, ate, and slept farming. His life long career was working on the Gehring Family Farm in St. Lawrence.

Earlier in life he worked for Gebhard’s Butcher Shop in Allenton, WI. He was a life-long member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He will be remembered dearly for being a humble man who enjoyed gardening, farming, and being a John Deere enthusiast- who collected almost anything John Deere. He will be dearly missed.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Shirley Gehring of St. Lawrence; loving children, Kory (Vicki) of Slinger, Kristopher (Jessica) of Hartford, Scott of Hartford, and Jeffery (Maria) Gehring of Hartford; loving step-children, Beth and Jason Krebs; cherished grandchildren, Timothy, Annabelle, Thomas, Estelle, Qwade, Gabe, Landon, Brianna, and Leah Gehring; dear siblings, Mary (Fred) Kellbach, Jeanne (fiance, Mitch) Klippel, Richard (Cheryl, Charles (Maureen), Michael (Marion), and Thomas (Patricia) Gehring; dear brother-in-law, Dale (Kathy) Reinke.  He is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Monica Gehring; his siblings, William “Skip” Gehring and Susan Hoefts; brother-in-law, Jerome Klippel; and his niece, Monica Van Alstyne.

Mass of Christian Burial for David will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, (4886 Hwy 175, Hartford, WI 53027) with Fr. Davies Edassery officiating.  Family will greet relatives and friends at church on Monday from 3:00-7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the St. Lawrence Fire Department (4955 State Road 175 Hartford, WI 53027) or to the Allenton Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad (P.O. Box 107 Allenton, WI 53002) are greatly appreciated.

The Gehring Family would like to share their sincere gratitude to the wonderful ICU Nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend for the great care given to David, as well as to Dr. Cornelius and Dr. Nunag for your compassionate care David received.
