Obit: Dolores M. “Dee” Prost, 95, Kewaskum

Former Town of Kewaskum Treasurer Dolores M. “Dee” Prost, 95, of Kewaskum, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum.

Dolores was born on October 1, 1920, the daughter of the late Henry and Meta (Wiedmeyer) Jansen. On November 8, 1958, she was united in marriage to Willard “Barney” Prost. Barney preceded Dolores in death on December 27, 2006.

Dolores was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum and was very involved in the Holy Trinity Christian Women. She was involved in numerous organizations including, Young at Heart, Country Cousins Homemakers, Birthday Club, Women of the Moose, Modern Woodmen, and the Kewaskum XYZ Club.

 

Dolores was the Town of Kewaskum Treasurer for 14 years and a census worker for 6 years for the Kewaskum School District. She also worked as a poll worker and was employed by BC Ziegler for 12 years.

 

Dolores enjoyed bowling, playing cards and spending time with her family. Barney and Dolores enjoyed going to Kewaskum High School sporting events, dancing, and going out to eat.

 

Those Dolores leaves behind to cherish her memory include two daughters, Janine (Scott) Prost-Domasky of St. Louis, Missouri and Bonnie (Ron) Will of Kewaskum; three grandchildren, Chad (April) Will, Kelli Jo (Greg) Anderson and Mandi (Jeff) Rahmer; eight great-grandchildren, Adam, Eliza, Austin, Celia, Lillian, McKenzie, Karissa, and Janessa; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Jansen, other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, Dolores was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene (Joan) Jansen and Earl Jansen; a brother-in-law, Wilmer Prost Jr.; a sister-in-law, Burnette (Paul) Schmitt; a nephew, Greg Jansen and a great niece, Brenda Oelhafen.

 

A Memorial Mass for Dolores will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Rev. Edwin Kornath will officiate and burial of her cremains will be at a later date.

 

Dolores’ family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.

 

The family extends their appreciation to the caregivers at Kettle Moraine Gardens who became a part of Dolores’ family.
