Obit: Donna M. Hermansen, 87, of Jackson. Donna worked for Globe Union, now Johnson Controls for over 35 years, retiring in 1983.

Jan. 16, 2017 – Jackson, WI – Donna M. Hermansen, 87, of Jackson died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Kathy Hospice. She was born September 30, 1929 in Glendive, MT to Ralph and Marie (nee Achilles) Hermansen.

Donna graduated from Girls Tech High School in Milwaukee in 1947. She worked for Globe Union, now Johnson Controls for over 35 years, retiring in 1983.

Donna was very active and enjoyed volunteering. She was a chief voting inspector in Milwaukee for many years, served as the president, vice president and secretary of the LX Club of Fox Point and volunteered at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center in Milwaukee for many years.

Donna is survived by her daughter Sandy (Jack) Lippold of Jackson, 4 grandchildren: Robin Gumz, Heather (Matt) Harper, Alyse (Omar) Tahat and Abby (Jimmi) Brensinger and 10 great-grandchildren: Julia Harper, Sierra Harper, Joseph Harper, Emma Harper, Isabelle Harper, Logan Jandre, Maleek Lippold, Simone Brensinger, Isaac Brensinger and Rudy Brensinger. She is further survived by her nephew Gary (Janet) Magin, her niece Lynn Magin and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Marie Hermansen, her grandson Andrew Gumz and her sister Marjorie (Robert) Magin.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 4 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2881 Division Road, Jackson with Rev. Paul Mittermaier officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Inurnment will take place on Thursday in Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.

The Schmidt Funeral Home in Jackson is serving the family.
