Obit: Earl W. Morenzien, 85, Kewaskum

Earl W. Morenzien, 85, of Kewaskum, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk, with his family at his side.

 

Earl was born on March 4, 1931, in Theresa, the son of the late Arnold and Ella (Bartsch) Morenzien. On May 28, 1955, he was united in marriage to Janice Backhaus. Janice preceded Earl in death on August 27, 2009.

 

Earl was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. He was also a member for the Laborers’ International Union of North America for 50 years. Earl proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served in the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum on the firing squad. He loved fishing, hunting, going for drives, and was a loving dad. Earl was always willing to help anyone out and could fix anything. He enjoyed tinkering in his shed, taking things apart and putting them back together without instructions. Earl deeply loved his family. He watched the little kids and spent time giggling with them and having fun. Earl will fondly be remembered for his kind heart and his prettiest blue eyes.

 

Those Earl leaves behind to cherish his memory include his two children, Larry (Kris) Morenzien and Linda (Gary) Gavin both of Kewaskum; 7 grandchildren, Stacy (Fred) Cluppert, Heather Handke, Krystal (Justin) Boeldt, Scott (Kerri) Morenzien, Nichole (Joe) Skelton, Kelly (Christopher) Pekrul, and Keri (Steve) Pieper; 17 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Noah, Alyson Cluppert, Garret, Lorren, Lidia Handke, Paxten and Beckett Boeldt, Clay, Makayla Skelton, Ella, Levi Morenzien, Caleb, Jacob and Kendra Pekrul, Makenzi and Wesley Pieper, other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral services for Earl will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 18, 2016, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. Rev. Timothy Henning will officiate and private burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.

 

Earl’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church is appreciated.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to The Fields, Jessica Trapp, and the nurses, Rachel and the 1st floor CBRF for the care provided to Earl.
