Obit: Fay Kogler, 89

Fay G. Kogler (Nee Hesselink), age 89, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2016 at Cedar Community surrounded by family.

Fay is survived by her husband Frank, children Charles (Barbara, Liberty Lake WA), Paul (Arunee Lashay, Campbellsport WI), Douglas (Karen, Fond du Lac WI); grandchildren Laura, Allison, Jennifer Kogler-Schanen (Mark), Abigail Finn (Joe), Elizabeth, Kori Reinwald (Chris), Margaret Smith (Nate), Kevin and Tessa and 9 great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Glenn and Bernard Kleinhesselink.

Fay was born on October 3, 1926 to Joe and Hannah (Nee Hanson) Hesselink in Cedar Grove, WI.  She graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1944, then attended secretarial school in Milwaukee.  She married Frank Kogler of Sheboygan in 1949, the couple taking up residence in Milwaukee.

After moving to West Bend in 1954, Fay did legal typing at home while raising her three sons and then worked as a legal secretary for O’Meara Law office in West Bend for 29 years until her retirement in 1997.

For many years she was an active member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend and made numerous close friends there.  After their retirement, Fay and Frank enjoyed wintering in Tucson, AZ and traveling to see family both in Europe and the U.S.  She also enjoyed socializing and played in several bridge groups for many years.  Above all, Fay loved her family, hosting many get-togethers and doting on her children and grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be at 6:00PM on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel in West Bend (1420 W. Paradise Dr.) with Rev. Sharon Stier presiding.  A visitation will be from 5:00PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
