Henry T. “Butch” Wendtlandt passed away unexpectedly, on Friday, October 14, 2016, at his home in Lomira, at the age of 71 years. Butch was born on December 26, 1944, in Port Washington, the son of the late Theodore Wendtlandt and the late Bernadine (nee Arentz) Wendtlandt.

He was united in marriage to Judy Suelflow and their marriage was blessed with five children, Tammy, Brian, Sandy, Jenny, and Mary. Butch was a longtime resident of Grafton, and was well known in the community. When Judy fell ill with ALS, Butch proved he was a great man and incredible husband by doing everything he could to care for her for years and years without complaint.

After Judy passed away in 2002, Butch later met Diane Roberts and they hit it off immediately. The two of them relocated to Lomira, to be in the center of their surrounding families. They were united in marriage, and built a wonderful life together filled with little adventures and brought each other endless amounts of joy.

Butch was a faithful and dedicated employee of Freeman Chemical, which is now CCP, in Saukville, working as a laboratory technician for more than 42 years. He had a great zest for life and he truly enjoyed all of the Wisconsin sports teams. Butch was an avid follower of his beloved Green Bay Packers, as well as the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers, and the Marquette “Warriors.”

Throughout his life, he enjoyed a variety of things, such as helping coach softball games, trapshooting, playing bingo with Judy, bowling in leagues and attending grandchildren’s events. He was an active member of the Saukville Moose Lodge for many years, was a Jeopardy addict and farmed on Facebook.

He loved live music with a brandy old fashioned in his hand, loved traveling with Diane and thoroughly enjoyed planning Wendtlandt Family Fun Day where he would laugh, drink, eat and compete wholeheartedly with his family that he loved dear. He enjoyed going out to eat and he LOVED his trips to La-la-la-Lambeau!

He was a generous, kind and simple man who touched many and his presence is already missed.

Butch is survived by his wife, Diane Wendtlandt, children: Tammy Quillen-Wendtlandt, Brian (Terri) Wendtlandt, Sandy Jameson, Jenny Wendtlandt, Mary (Clint Maier) Wendtlandt, and Amy (Laura) Quaintance-Strong; grandchildren: Noah, Ben, Abby, Wylie, Maisie, Myanna, and Henry; brother, Roger (Judy) Wendtlandt, and brother-in-law, Wally Blank. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Butch was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Wendtlandt, and siblings, Janice Blank, Doris Wegner, and Jimmy Wendtlandt.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, 6PM at the Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory (979 N. Green Bay Rd.), in Grafton. He will be in state on Wednesday, from 3PM until the time of service. Butch will be laid to rest the following day with his first wife, Judy. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or ALS Association are appreciated.

“Raise a glass in Butch’s honor and memory at the Moose Lodge where we’ll have snacks and drinks following the service.”
