Obit: James F. “Jim” Riley, 85, of West Bend

 

July 17, 2018 – West Bend, WI – James F. “Jim” Riley, 85, of West Bend called home to be with the Lord on July 16, 2018 at The Fields of Samaritan surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born on May 29, 1933 in the Town of Farmington to William and Clara Riley (Thill).  On July 25, 1970 he was united in marriage to the late Enid O’Bryan (nee Stringer), in Loves Park, IL.

Jim attended Boltonville School and then honorable served in the United States Navy.  He belonged to IBW Electrical Union and was Superintendent of Utility Construction Companies 35 years. Jim traveled extensively for work.

Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include, son, Charles (Diane) Riley of Cadott, WI; two step-children, Joanie (Gary) Lewis of Coral Creek, FL, Terry (Chris) O’Bryan of Delta, KY; four grandchildren, Anthony Riley, Matthew Riley, Josh Lewis and Justin Lewis; four step-grandchildren, Nicole Myers, Blake Rausch, Chad Lewis, Patrick Lewis and  11 great-grandchildren.  Further survived by siblings, Carol (Ben) Barr and Gary (Louann) Riley; son-in-law, Roger Lewis; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Enid; Jim was preceded in death by daughter, Connie Lewis; two sisters Mary (Arnold) Schaldweiler and Janice Theil; and step-son, Leonard O’Bryan.

Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be held at 3:30 pm on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N 8th Street – West Bend, WI  53095) with Father Pat Heppe officiating. Inurnment at Oak Knoll Cemetery at a later date.

Jim’s family will greet relatives and friends at Church on Friday from 2:00 pm until the time of service.

Jim’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Samaritan Center – First Floor and Allay Hospice for the loving care they provided.

The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home of West Bend has been entrusted with Jim’s arrangements.
