Oct. 15, 2018 – West Bend, WI – James “Jim” Demmon, 75, of West Bend was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018 at Cedar Community Hospice surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on March 30, 1943 in West Bend to the late Clifford and Dorothy (Hartwig) Demmon. On September 15, 1962 Jim married Karen Schmidt at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Jim graduated from West Bend High School and then went to work at the West Bend Company. He worked there for 44 years and worked in many different areas of the company from hand rolling and trimming, to sealing machine setup and stock handler; to working foreman, stock lift handler and hi-lift operator. Jim retired in 2005, after working in the customer service department.
Jim loved to fish and hunt. He also shot trap for 20 some years at the West Bend Barton Sportsman Club. He also loved to be in the kitchen cooking. He and his wife loved to spend time at their second home in Northern Wisconsin for over 28 years. Their children and grandchildren loved to come and a have a good time with them as well. Jim loved to sit and relax and watch the wildlife up north.
Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Karen of 56 years; three children, Russell (Mary) Demmon, Mark (Kelly) Demmon, and Christine (Dan) Daley; five grandchildren, Tyler (Stephanie) Daley, Shannon Daley, Kaitlin Demmon, Hunter Demmon, and Ross Demmon. He is further survived by two brothers, Roger (Kathie) Demmon and Warren (Mary) Demmon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service for Jim will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Myrhum Patten Miller Kietzer Funeral Home (1315 W Washington St. – West Bend, WI 53095) with Pastor David Schoob officiating. Interment at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.
Jim’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials to Cedar Community Hospice or Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend would be appreciated.
Jim’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Cedar Community – all the wonderful nursing staff and hospice caregivers – for all the loving care they provided.
