Obit:  Janice I. Henke (nee Marx), 84, of Jackson

Sept. 27, 2017 – Slinger, WI –  Janice I. Henke (nee Marx) of Jackson, passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017 at Kathy Hospice.

Janice was born on July 22, 1933 in Appleton to Henry and Verna (nee Allen) Marx. She attended Appleton High School, class of 1951 and then went to Marquette University and graduated in 1955.

Janice met Robert Henke Sr. at Marquette University and they were married on May 3, 1958. She loved gardening with Bob and had a raspberry patch that was 6 acres, although now it is down to 3 acres.

Janice’s heart was taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed being around children. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church of Slinger.

Janice is survived by her husband Bob and children Robert (Peggy) Henke and Chris Henke. She is further survived by her grandchildren Nicholas, Anthony (Dakota), Timothy, Jarrod and Brian, great-grandchildren Masen, Luke and Hazel, brother-in-law Bruno (Ramona) Henke, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents and her sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Friday, September 29, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church of Slinger with Father Richard J. Stoffel presiding. Interment will follow the mass at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at 1:30pm. Visitation will be at the church only on Friday, September 29 from 9:00 am until time of mass (10:00am). Memorials are appreciated to St. Peter Catholic Church (208 E. Washington St., Slinger, WI 53086).
