Obit: Jean M. Fassbinder, 95, West Bend. Jean worked as a receptionist for the Washington Co. courthouse, starting at age 53 and retiring at age 84 after 31 years of service.

Jan. 23, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Jean M. Fassbinder (nee Kraut), age 95, of West Bend, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Kathy Hospice, West Bend, WI.

She was born on January 27, 1921 in Polk, Wisconsin to Henry and Mary (nee McNeil) Kraut. Jean married Robert Fassbinder, on September 14th 1949.

Jean Spent her life working for a variety companies. She worked for the Home Lumber Company, Decorah and West Bend Pharmacies, but Jean spent most of her time working as a part-time receptionist for the Washington County courthouse, starting her career at age 53 and retiring at age 84 after 31 years of service.

Jean loved spending time with family and friends, and playing cards. She also enjoyed her flower garden.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Trish (Wayne) Glover of Glenview, IL. and her son, Mark (Denise) Fassbinder of Rockford, IL.

3 grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Neitzel, Heather (Levi) Prewitt, and Rebecca Glover. 5 greatgrandchildren, Seth, Noah, and Olivia Prewitt, Stella and Hank Neitzel. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and brothers, Neil and Marcus Kraut and sister Joyce Lambert.

A private visitation for the immediate family will be held at the Schmidt Funeral Home.

Jean’s family would like to share their sincere gratitude to the staff at Aurora Hospital (Grafton) especially the E.D. Department and the Doctors and nursing staff of the 3rd floor Medical / Surgical Department, as well as the entire nursing staff and doctors at Kathy Hospice in West Bend, for their care of Jean in her final days.
