Obit: John Jagodzinski, 61, of West Bend

​Sept. 13, 2018 – West Bend, WI – John A. Jagodzinski, an outstanding photographer and long- time resident of West Bend, died unexpectedly on August 30, 2018.

John was born to Arthur and Theresa (Bernard) Jagodzinski in Peru, Illinois, on April 26, 1957.  He attended St. Mary’s Grade School and Peru Catholic, graduating from LaSalle Peru Township High School in LaSalle, Illinois, in 1975.   After high school he worked for Sigmund and Seneca Appliance stores in heating and air conditioning.

John was an avid motocross fan and raced in the late 1970’s, which allowed him to travel across the United States.

John was a brilliant photographer, having begun his career working for Don’s Photography in Peru, and then moved to Milwaukee, where he worked for Carroll and Haig Studios.  

Shortly thereafter, he moved to West Bend and opened his business “Photography by John” on Fifth Avenue. He spent the past 40 plus years perfecting his craft and restoring old photographs for numerous clients.  He loved photography and enjoyed meeting and visiting with his customers.

John leaves behind his son, Nicholas J. (Taysha) Jagdodzinski, two grandsons, father Arthur Jagodzinski, sisters Janet (Paul) Mayszak and Jill (James) Pappas, all of Peru, Illinois, Aunt Johanna (Adoph) Orio of LaSalle, a nephew, nieces, and great-nieces and nephews, long-time racing pal Brian Buffo, and dear friend Linda Renard Burg of West Bend.  John’s mother preceded him in death on March 4, 1965.

The family will observe a private  graveside service in Peru.
