Obit: Kay G. Roy (nee Mayer), 79, of West Bend

July 29, 2017 – West Bend, WI – Kay G. Roy (nee Mayer), 79, of West Bend, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 28, 2017.

She was born on August 6, 1937 to the late Joseph and Lucille (nee Dietrich) Mayer in Milwaukee. Kay graduated from Minocqua High School. On May 23, 1959 she was united in marriage to Laurence Roy Sr. at St. Ann’s Church, Milwaukee. Kay received her degree in Radiography and worked at Mount Sinai in Milwaukee, Community memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, and finished her career at Hartford Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed reading, knitting and video poker. Kay was a Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. Kay loved going out to breakfast with her good friend, Nancy. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Those Kay leaves behind to cherish her memory include her seven children, John (Rosemary) Siggelow, Robin (John) Larrabee, Roxanne Roy, Renee (Jim Rohlinger) Stone, Rhonda (Bob) Watry, Laurence (Lyn) Roy, and Robert Roy; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy (Jim) Makovec; three brothers, Karl Mayer, John Mayer, and Craig Mayer; good friends, Nancy (Martin) Gillitzer, Donita (George) Bruder, and Ann Michels; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Laurence, and her two brothers Kirk Mayer and Joseph Mayer Jr.

A funeral service in remembrance of Kay will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Burial will be on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Cemetery on Forest View Rd.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.

A special thank you to the nurses, aides, and staff at the Kathy Hospice for all their help and care.
