Obit: Kenneth Eugene Zwirlein, 66, of Slinger

Kenneth Eugene Zwirlein, age 66 years of Slinger, passed away on April 15, 2016, at Kathy Hospice.

Ken was born on May 20, 1949 to Eugene and Margaret (nee Konrath) Zwirlein.  He graduated from Slinger High School in 1967 and married Kathleen (nee Laubenheimer) on September 19, 1970.  Ken worked as truck driver for Princl Transfer for 16 years and drove for other trucking companies for 14 years.  He hauled milk for Larry Mueller part time for many years and worked in local factories.  He supported his family and took care of his home.  He was a fan of watching NASCAR and Milwaukee Brewers games.  He was a retired member of the Slinger Volunteer Fire Dept..

Ken is survived by his children Kurt (Samantha Heiman) and Kim (Brian Cesar).  He is further survived by brother Tom (Chris) Zwirlein of Colorado Springs, sister Judy Zwirlein, sister-in- law Judy Zwirlein of Nashota, brother-in-law Richard (Ruth) Laubenheimer, mother-in-law LaVern “Torchie” Laubenheimer, and granddaughter Morgan Zwirlein, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen (nee Laubenheimer) of 45 years on March 28, 2016.  Also preceding him were his parents Eugene and Margaret Zwirlein, father-in-law Stanley “Bloof” Laubenheimer, brother Paul Zwirlein in 1997, and nephew Michael Zwirlein in 2010.

At Ken’s request, no formal services will be held.

A special thank you to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Kathy Hospice for their care of Ken in his final days.
