Obit: Lorinda C. Bartelt-Krief, 98, Kewaskum

Lorinda C. Bartelt-Kreif, 98, of Kewaskum, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Cedar Community in West Bend.

She was born on March 22, 1918, in the town of Auburn, the daughter of the late Carl “Charles” and Emma (Schultz) Krahn. On January 1, 1937, she was united in marriage to Otto Bartelt at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Fane. Otto preceded Lorinda in death on September 21, 1990. On October 22, 1993, Lorinda was united in marriage to Albert M. Kreif at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Fane. Albert preceded Lorinda in death on January 2, 2003.

Lorinda worked at the West Bend Company and at Amity and retired in 1981. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane for all of her life. She belonged to the Ladies Guild for a number of years and also the choir. She loved gardening, flowers, sewing, quilting, embroidery, and dancing.

Those Lorinda leaves behind to cherish her memory include six children, Otto (Bev) Bartelt of New Fane, Maynard Bartelt and Thomas Bartelt both of Campbellsport, Janice (Rodger) Breselow of Princeton, Debra (Donald) Theisen of Campbellsport and Jean (Robert) Robrahn of West Bend; a son-in-law, David “Leroy” Coulter of Kewaskum; three step-children, Allen (Donna) Kreif, Carol Aupperle (fiancé, Gerald Dreher) and Bonnie Peters all of Kewaskum; 25 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

In addition to Otto, Albert and her parents, Lorinda was preceded in death by an infant son, Bruce F. Bartelt; a daughter, Barbara Coulter; a step-son, Albert “Butch” Kreif III; a grandson, Craig Coulter; two great grandchildren, Alexis Ringle and Sabrina Stahl; a brother, Alvin Krahn; a sister, Marie Kujawski; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law; a nephew and a niece.

Funeral services for Lorinda will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Fane. Rev Mark Eckert will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Lorinda’s family will greet relatives and friends at the Miller Funeral Home on Sunday, June 12, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Fane from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Lutheran Church are appreciated.
