Obit: Robert H. Bechwar Jr., 67, of the Town of Polk

 

Sept. 10, 2017 – Town of Polk, WI – Robert H. Bechwar Jr., age 67 of the Town of Polk died Tuesday, September 5, 2017. He was born October 28, 1949 in West Bend to Robert and Mary (nee Schalles) Bechwar.

Bob graduated from UW Stout with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education before teaching at Badger Middle School for 5 years. He then worked for Wisconsin Gas Company for over 30 years until he retired in 2012.

He loved spending time on Big Cedar Lake and enjoyed volunteering for the Cedar Lakes Conservation Foundation for many years. He liked hunting, fishing and spending time at the family cabin in Neshkoro.

Bob is survived by his mother Mary Bechwar, 5 siblings: Tim (Cindy) of West Bend, Dave of West Bend, Paul of West Bend, Steve (Birgit) of Munich, Germany and Margie Whatley of West Bend and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Sr. and 2 brothers, John and Matthew.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Jerome Repenshek presiding.

The family will greet visitors at the church only from 4 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to Catholic Relief Services or the Kathy Hospice are appreciated.

We would like to express our heartfelt and sincere gratitude to Bob’s caregiver Pam from Home Instead for the kind and compassionate care given to him this past year.

The Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend is serving the family.
