Obit: Roger A. Roecker, 98, Hartford

57436b12b2588 Roger A. Roecker of Hartford formerly of Allenton, passed away Saturday, May 21 ,2016 at the age of 98 years.  He was born July 1, 1917 in the Town of Herman, the son of Otto and Elsie (nee Justman) Roecker.

He was born on the family farm and began working on the family farm until his retirement after 51 years of farming. He married Lorraine E. Guenterberg on November 5, 1947. He was very gentle with the animals he worked with.  He was determined to finish what he started, and was very particular with everything he did.  He liked to garden, and had a seven acre potato farm that his children helped harvest.  He was a lifetime member of Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, and held many church offices.

He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine of 68 years, his loving children Rev. Eugene (Linda) Roecker, of North Dakota, Roger Roecker of Utah, Steve (Mary) Roecker of Mayville, Lisa (Jeff) Immel of Oakfield, Wisconsin.  Also surviving are his grandchildren Amanda (Jeremy) Wood, Kianna Roecker, Sierra (Justin) Sipma, Nichole (Brad) Radabaugh, Danny (Heather) Roecker, Dusty Roecker, Victoria (John) Hattori, Erick (Kelley) Roecker, Robin (Tom) Beatty, Michele (Shawn) Gruelke, James (Nicole Canon) Roecker, Gerald Immel.  7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation is Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church W630 Highway 33, Township of Hartford.  Funeral service to follow at noon at church.  Rev. Aaron Steinbrenner will officiate.  Interment Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church cemetery.

Memorials to The Gardens of Hartford , Peace Lutheran Church, or Emmanuel Ev. Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
