Obit: Steven Francis Lenz, 56, formerly of West Bend

Steven Francis Lenz, age 56, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Beaver Dam Community Hospital in Beaver Dam. He was a resident of Horicon for the past five years.

Steven was born on September 3, 1959, in West Bend, the son of the late Chuck “Oscar” and Rita (Kircher) Lenz. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from West Bend East High School in West Bend. Steven spent most of his adult life living in Chicago, Illinois near close friends and working as a florist. Steve’s many passions included cooking, biking, fishing, hunting, thrift store shopping, and spending time with family and friends. Steve was also a lover of all of nature’s flora and fauna; from an opossum named Louie, to a plant named Verna, and his beloved dog Lucky.

Steve is survived by four siblings, Gale Zurn of Campbellsport, Chris Wiedmeyer of Englewood, Colorado, Dan Lenz of Madison, South Dakota, and Jean Schmitt of Montello, other relatives and friends. He was a loving uncle to his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and one more on the way.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Lenz.

A memorial mass for Steve will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church, 1610 Monroe Street, in West Bend. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Barton.

Steve’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.

The Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Steve’s arrangements.
