May 12, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Wayne H. Dhein, 73, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Wayne was born on October 24, 1944 in Hartford, WI to the late Harvey and Louise (nee Techtmann) Dhein. Following his graduation from West Bend High School in 1962, Wayne worked for several years at the Gehl Company in West Bend before working for Milwaukee Electric Tool in Milwaukee for over 30 years. Wayne’s strong work ethic lead him to continue working even in retirement for a variety of part time jobs mostly driving bus or truck.
Following the loss of his wife Lisbeth in 1979, Wayne raised their two children. He loved bowling and playing dartball. Wayne enjoyed fishing and camping with his children. He was an avid sports fan and especially liked watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. Wayne was a longtime member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend.
Those Wayne leaves behind to cherish his memory include his two children, Kimberly Schmitt and Eric (Heidi) Dhein; his step-son, Charles Thurman; three grandchildren, Amber, Matthew, Lisbeth (Ben), and Amanda; two great-grandchildren, Donovan and Oliver; a sister, Judy (Ed) Krepsky; a brother, Lynn (Diane) Dhein; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his first wife Lisbeth (nee Lauer) Dhein.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at a later date.
