Obit: Wilma K. Dettmann, 96, Campbellsport

Wilma K. Dettmann, 96, of Campbellsport, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport surrounded by her loving family.

Wilma was born on July 8, 1919, the daughter of the late William and Katie (nee Sander) Wothe.  She graduated from Fond du Lac Senior High School in 1937.  Wilma was united in marriage to Merlin Dettmann at United Methodist Church in Campbellsport on Dec 25, 1942.   Merlin preceded Wilma in death on Dec 19, 1981.

Wilma and Merlin farmed the family homestead in the town of Scott for many years.  Wilma belonged to the Farmington Handimaids Homemakers for over 50 years.  She retired from Regalware in Kewaskum in 1981.  Wilma resided at Long Lake for many years and recently at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport.  She was a life time member of New Horizon United Church of Christ in Boltonville.

Those Wilma leaves behind to cherish her memory include four daughters, Judith Blohm of Campbellsport, Sandra (Ralph) Jung of Silver Creek, Debby (Tom) Benzschawel of Cascade and Kathryn (Gary) Emmer of Campbellsport; 9 grandchildren, Amy (Louie) Lauters, Kelly (Dan) Werbelow, Becky (Shane) Streblow, Kate (Jamie) Ahrens, Beth (Paul) Geib, Angie (Joe) Germano, Holly (Aaron) Kruepke, Jamie (fiancé Ryan Borghoff) Vogt and Matt Vogt; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; a cousin, Virginia Dolan of Fond du Lac, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents Wilma was preceded in death by two son-in-laws, Bob Blohm and Nick Vogt; a step-granddaughter, Jodi Jung; a sister, Gail (Clarence) Buchholz; a brother, David (Paulyn) Wothe and a best friend and sister-in-law, Jane (Vernon) Dettmann.

A Memorial Service for Wilma will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at New Horizon United Church of Christ, 9663 State Hwy. 144 North, Town of Farmington (North of Boltonville).  Rev. David Schlieter will be officiating and inurnment will follow at Boltonville Union Cemetery in Boltonville.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers memorials to New Horizon United Church of Christ are appreciated.

The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Wilma’s arrangements.

The Dettmann family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Ivy Manor and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care of their mother.
