Obituary | Audrey I. Vandlik (nee Williams), 92, of West Bend

 

Nov. 15, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Audrey I. Vandlik (nee Williams), 92, of West Bend, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at the Waterford in West Bend.

 

Audrey was born on May 24, 1926, in Granton, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late George and Pearl (nee Lavey) Williams. On June 14, 1952, she was united in marriage to Miro J. Vandlik at Bethel Lutheran Church in Chicago. Miro preceded Audrey in death on March 18, 1991.

 

After graduating from Granton High School in 1944 she moved to Chicago where she worked as a telephone operator and supervisor. Audrey was baptized and confirmed in 1947 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Chicago. Audrey was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Highland Park, Illinois for decades where she was active as a Sunday School teacher and in women’s groups. Since Miro’s passing she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and moved to Covenant Village of Northbrook, Illinois.

 

Those Audrey leaves behind to cherish her memory include three children, Sue (John) Fox, Carol (John) Heger, and John (Renee) Vandlik; five grandchildren, Peter Fox, Andrew Fox, Joseph Heger, Katarina Vandlik, and Andre Vandlik; two siblings, Virginia Seely and Victor (Joanne) Williams; other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Bernice Gellert, Lucille Janet, Iva Schiller, Rodney Williams, Shirley Christian, Lawrence Williams, Leon Williams, and Darnell Williams.

 

Funeral services for Audrey will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church, 462 Meadowbrook Drive, in West Bend. Rev Christopher Raffa and Rev. Joseph Fisher will officiate and a private burial will take place on Friday at Noon at St. Luke’s Cemetery in Chicago.

 

Audrey’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) or to Lutheran Heritage Foundation (www.LHFmissions.org) is appreciated.

 

The Myrhum Patten Miller and Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Audrey’s arrangements.
