Obituary | Beverly ‘Bev’ Mae Chesak(nee Haut), 88, of Newburg

May 20, 2019 – Newburg, WI – Beverly ‘Bev’ Mae Chesak(nee Haut), 88, of Newburg, was called to her heavenly home on May 19, 2019.

She was born on July 9, 1930, in Plymouth Wisconsin. Bev was the daughter of Alvin and Kathryn (nee Crosby) Haut. After graduating from West Bend High School in 1948, she became employed in the office at Bolens in Port Washington. She then worked at Gehl Company for a short time until she had her children.

Bev married John “Jack” C. Chesak on March 31, 1951 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg. They were married for 42 years before Jack passed away on December 25, 1993.

Bev will be dearly missed by her eight children– Debbie (Randy) Schladweiler of Hingham; John (Sue) Chesak of Newburg; Dan (Sue) Chesak of the Town of Saukville; Kathy (Al) Wollner of Newburg; Mark (Rena) Chesak of Newburg; Rose (Steve) Dargo of Mayville; Marty (Sandy) Chesak of town of Farmington; Lisa (Mike) Northrop of Eden.

She is further survived by 11 grandchildren – Ross Schladweiler, Megan (Ian) Andrews, Bradley (Yukari) Wollner, Tyler Wollner, Steven (Rachel) Kirmse, Stephanie (Wes) Thomas, Stacey (Jesse) Knasinski, Erica Chesak, Jared Chesak, Kayla (Jon) Wicklund, Heather Awve; 10 great-grandchildren – Ryer and Rowen Andrews, Porter Wollner, Bentley and Brielle Kirmse, Kora Thomas, Kiera and Mason Pieper, Jayden and Kendrick Burns; her sister Susan (Bob) Mueller of Cape Coral, FL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Roy (Marilee) Chesak Sorrento, FL, Bill (Marc) Chesak of Newburg, Harry (Kay) Chesak of Newburg, Sandy (Andy) Mayer of Newburg, Mary (Bill) Kobernik of Chandler, AZ and Dan Koch of Glidden, WI ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bev is preceded in death by her loving husband Jack, parents Alvin and Kathryn Haut parents-in-law Martin & Loretta Chesak, sister-in-law Bonnie Koch.

Everyone loved her home cooked meals and fresh baked goods. Having raised eight children, she had plenty of practice in the kitchen. She enjoyed trying new recipes, but without a doubt her home-made bread and peanut squares were family favorites! When her children were growing up there was always fresh-baked goodies packed in school lunch bags. Bev also enjoyed going to the county fair with her grandchildren and was very proud of exhibits they entered and ribbons they won.

Bev was always very cheerful and upbeat and enjoyed life. She had a terrific sense of humor and loved telling jokes and funny stories. One of her favorite past-times was playing sheepshead, she could play for hours and hours; several of her friends came frequently, even after she moved to the Waterford in West Bend in April 2015, and she always looked forward to playing cards and reminiscing with them.

Bev was a long-time and active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 23 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg from 3 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. at church.  Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to the Newburg Fire Department.

Bev’s family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Kathy Hospice for their tender loving care and support.

The Schmidt Funeral Home of West Bend is serving the family.
