Obituary | Dennis Joseph Benzing, 66, of Neosho

October 28, 2019 – Neosho, WI –Dennis J. Benzing, 66, of Neosho, Wisconsin passed away in his home Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Dennis was born April 2, 1953 to Esther R. (nee Becker) and Edgar C. Benzing at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He graduated from Cedarburg High School and went on to work as a carpenter.

He enjoyed remodeling homes, barns, and roofing. Dennis was an avid hunter and loved the thrill of hunting game such as bear, raccoons, caribou, deer, elk, moose, and small game. He loved to travel to Alaska and Texas. Dennis was also an airplane pilot and owned a couple of planes. He also loved eating popcorn and watching old westerns. He cherished the random visits of his family and friends.

Dennis is survived by his dear siblings, Patricia Albert of Neosho, Joann (Rick) Hernbrode of Kekoskee, Wilfred (Sharon) Benzing of Alaska, and Michael Benzing of Juneau; 27 dear nieces and nephews including Godchildren, Linda Rainwater, Christopher and Andrew Benzing; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He is further survived by other loved relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther and Edgar Benzing; brother, Jim (Sharon) Benzing; brother-in-law, Edward Albert; nephews, Donald and Daniel Albert, and Kurt Cina.

Funeral Services for Dennis will be held Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the House of Prayer, W3941 Hwy 33 Horicon, WI 53032, with Rev. Joann Hernbrode and Rev. Wilfred Benzing co-officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hartford, Friday, November 1, 2019 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in care of Christopher Benzing are sincerely appreciated.
