Obituary | Eugene E. Fritz, 88, of Allenton

April 20, 2019 – Allenton, WI – Eugene E. Fritz, 88, of Allenton died on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Aurora Medical Center Hartford.

He was born on August 27, 1930 in the Town of Herman to the late Henry and Anita (nee Breuer) Fritz.

On October 16, 1954, he was united in marriage to Janet Strupp at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.  Together, they raised their 5 children in Allenton.

Eugene was a hard-working man, starting out by farming and milk hauling for 19 years.  He then was employed by Gehl’s, Regalware and Broan until his retirement.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janet; their children Mary (Toby) Becker, Sue (Scott) Risse, Peggy (Mike) Gehl, Peter (Deb) Fritz and Jim (Sunni) Fritz; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  He is further survived by his sister Veronica (Leroy) Doll and brothers-and-sisters-in-law: Dolores Koenig, Peter (Elaine) Strupp, Cele Schmidt, Fred (Elaine) Strupp, Marvin Hembel, Mary Lou (Jerry) O’Shea, Tom Strupp; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents Henry and Anita, he is preceded in death by his parents-in-law Cecilia and Isidor Strupp, sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy (Vic) Jazak, Marilyn (Robert) Steckbauer and brothers-and-sisters-in-law Vernon Goeden, Marvin Koenig, Marvin Schmidt, Betty Mae Hembel and Carol Strupp.

The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at Resurrection Catholic Church in Allenton on Wednesday, April 24 from 3:30 p.m. until 5:45 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6 p.m. Wednesday.  Burial will be on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Eugene’s name can be made to Resurrection Catholic Church, Allenton Fire Department, Slinger High School Scholarship Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Eugene’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Trivedi and his staff for their wonderful care and to the floor nursing staff at Aurora Medical Center Hartford for their care and compassion.
