Obituary: James “Jim” A. Collins Jr. of Hartford

Dec. 21, 2018 – Hartford WI – James “Jim” A. Collins received his angel wings on Dec. 20, 2018.

Devoted dad to Cindy (David) Liebl, Wendy (Jay) Beckett, Lori (Brett) Schubring and stepdad to Peter (Danielle) Ploeger and Heather (Trent) Campbell. Loving grandpa to John Jr., Rachelle, Chris, Deanna, Megan, Sam, Dan, Ben and Owen.

Survived by his sisters and brother and many more family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, and wife, Lyanne.

Jim served in the Army and worked at Stolper Industries and Wacker. He especially loved being a greeter at the Hartford Walmart. James was a lifelong classic car and racing enthusiast who loved to rummage, polka, water ski, camp and play Yahtzee. He had his own lawn care business for many years. James graduated from Hartford Union High School where he was cross country state champ in 1955 and All American in 1955 and 1956.

Memorial Service will be held at Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford on Saturday, December 29, at 1:00 PM. The family will begin to receive guests at 11:00 AM. Private committal at St. Kilians Catholic Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Season’s Hospice for the exceptional care he received.
