Jan. 2, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Kenneth J. Jochem Sr., 81, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 at the Kathy Hospice in West Bend surrounded by his loving family.

Ken was born April 14, 1937 in Hartford to Sylvia (nee Schisel) and John Jochem Sr. He was united in marriage to Ann M. Lechner on December 19, 1959 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford. Ken proudly served our country in the United States Marines. He enjoyed spending time up-north in Neshkoro at his cabin hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Ann Jochem; loving children, Maggie (Dennis) Markeland, Brenda (friend, Cary) Robarge, Kim (Mike) Vanderjagt, John Jochem, Ken (Charlene) Jochem Jr., Jerry (Brenda) Jochem, and Mike Jochem; 20 cherished grandchildren and 13 cherished great-grandchildren; several dear siblings and siblings-in-law. He is further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law; daughter, Beverly Gleiss; daughter-in-law, Patty Jochem; and brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services for Ken will be held Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 2:00p.m. at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027) with Fr. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 10:00a.m.-1:45p.m.

Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hartford on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00a.m. with military honors.

Ken’s family would like to share their sincere gratitude with the nursing staff: at the Pavilion at Glacier Valley in Slinger (special thanks to Maggie Markeland for the exceptional care and time taken to care for Dad), and Aurora-Hartford Hospital for the care they provided, and Kathy Hospice Hospice for the kindness shown.
