Obituary | Robert “Bunny” J. Simpson, 88, of Hartford

October 10, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Robert “Bunny” J. Simpson, found his final peace on Wednesday, October 09, 2019. He was born in Hartford on December 20, 1930 to his mother Mercedes (Klink) Simpson.

Bunny was a 1948 graduate of Hartford High School. He was united in marriage on May 14, 1955 to Laverne Dalum. Bunny worked at several jobs, including the Hartford Post Office and retired from the Hartford Water Department.

Bunny enjoyed making summer sausage, other homemade meats and baking bread. A great joy was being up north, hunting and teaching his children and grandchildren to fish.

Bunny is survived by his loving wife, Laverne; three children, Patrick, Paul (Patty) and Mary (Steve) Kollman; twelve grandchildren, Eddie and Katie; Andy (Lindsay) Schultz, Aaron and Alex Schultz, Alyssa Simpson; Jonathan, Sarah and David Kollman; Jason (Jenny), Melanie and Michael (Nichole) San Filippo; two great-grandchildren, Nora Simpson and Arya San Filippo; also survived by other relatives and friends. Bunny is preceded in death by his mother; daughter, Anne Krueger; sons, David and John; daughter-in-law, Andrea; brother, Eugene (Shirley) Simpson; and sister-in-law, Verna (“Bronk”) Bronkhorst.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 264 W. State St., Hartford on Wednesday, October 16 at 12 Noon with Rev. David LaPlante presiding. Visitation for family and friends from 11 a.m. until time of Mass. Committal at St. Kilian Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Samaritan Health Center for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Kilian Catholic Church School.
