Obituary | Wayne “Pops” Delcore, 79, of Allenton

June 18, 2019 – Allenton, WI – Wayne “Pops” Clarence Delcore was called home to the Lord on June 15, 2019. He was the son of the late Clarence and Gladys Delcore.

Wayne is survived by his wife Carol (nee Laabs) and his children: Steven John (Sun) Delcore of Hazel Green, AL, Brenda (Rob) Zupko of Port St. Lucie, FL, Rodney Delcore of Allenton and Denise Delcore of Greenacres, FL, and his grandson Alexander Delcore of Hazel Green, AL. He is further survived by his brother Henry (Nancy) Delcore of Campbellsport, brothers-in-law: Fred “Fritz” Hafemann of Knowles, WI, Edward “Porky” Bergmann of Slinger and Edward “Eddie” (Judith) Laabs of Oakfield, his uncle Lee Crozier of Oconto Falls and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters: Phyllis (Fred) Hafemann, Karen (Edward) Bergmann, Shirley (Richard) Fischer, Cheryl (Dale) Adams and his brother Ronnie (Mary Ellen) Delcore.

Wayne was born in Oconto on May 14, 1940. After graduating from Slinger High School, Wayne served as a combat engineer in the United States Army from 1959-1962. Wayne worked at Gehl’s, Allis Chalmers, and Tesker’s Manufacturing as a certified welder. He was also a member of the Fohl-Martin American Legion Post 483 in Allenton, Wisconsin. He also tended bar at Carmel Lanes and at Linden Inn.

Wayne loved golfing, fishing, bowling and hobby farming and enjoyed his daily lottery scratch-offs and crossword puzzles. Per his wishes, there will be a private family service with military honors followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his name.

The Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend is serving the family.
