A plaque honoring County Supervisor Herb Tennies for his 50 years of service was unveiled during a ceremony Tuesday afternoon at the Washington County Courthouse. The plaque will hang inside the front entry of the building.

The plaque reads: A native of West Bend, Herb dedicated himself to giving back to the City of West Bend and Washington County by serving on the County Board from April 19, 1966 to April 19, 2016.

Throughout his fifty years of meritorious service, Herb espoused the virtues of a dedicated County Board Supervisor- duty, honor and integrity. During his tenure the existing County campus was transformed from farm fields and pastures to what is here today. His 35 years on the Personnel Committee were instrumental in shaping the employees, departments and organization. His eleven years as a member of the Executive Committee, and eight years as County Boar Chair, created a clear vision that will guide us for decades to come.
